Working without Internet

Working with SME Data Solutions, this company was able to increase sales teams' confidence on remote locations and get rid of time-consuming manual updates and note-keeping for admin and sales staff.

Background

The company attended many trade shows around the country. Often internet connection on location was slow, intermittent or non-existent but they needed to access to data in the office. Data was stored in an existing Access database and although a copy could be taken on location, any new or changed data had to be manually updated in the primary database back at the office.

Solution

The solution was to modify the existing Access database so that it could be replicated and synchronised on return to the office.

Outcome

Users on location felt more confident about what they were doing and did not have to make separate notes of what had been changed or added. Time and effort was also saved when synchronising the data with less risk of errors.
